We encourage everyone to invite a diversity of creatures into their landscapes, and we promote the use of plants that thrive in local conditions to insure success using minimum resources and maintenance. We enthusiastically promote the creation of suburban and urban garden habitat by offering native plants that have excellent ornamental value to gardeners while offering basic shelter and food resources to wildlife.
We are family owned and operated since 1998, and we practice what we preach. In addition to using low-impact, organic pest control in our growing practices to keep a healthy, balanced eco-system on our farm, we
• offset our energy use with green tags purchased through Zephyr-Bonneville
• accept and use recycled pots
• grow everything in organic potting mix and do not use synthetic fertilizers of any kind
• support local non-profits and schools through donations
• shop independent retailers as consumers

Look for the landmark!
For 20 years we had our eyes on the starburst sign where it stood in a field by the highway on the north edge of Ottawa. We'd often talked about asking at the house nearby to see if it might be for sale, but of course we never did. Then in 2005, after a violent storm had passed through the area Doug happened to drive by and see the sign had blown down. He stopped immediately and asked if the owner was interested in selling, and the rest is history! New light sockets and a timing mechanism have the C-152 back in working order.
