A fast growing, well-branched cultivar with an upright growth habit. Deep green, arrow-shaped leaves are highlighted with light green to silver veins and  striking deep ebony colored stems. Striking yellow stripes on dark green leaves. Fragrant, white flowers tinged purple-pink with crinkled, yellow lip with red and brown stripes. Zone 8 tropical.
Dark purple threadleaf foliage adds foliage contrast and fine texture. Plants won't crowd out others in combinations, and stay dense, never leggy. Grows 12-16" high and wide.

Tiny, round green leaves densely cover reddish-brown, wiry stems. This vigorous little plant makes a wonderful filler and foliage contrast plant in combo baskets and planters. Wire vine also makes a great topiary frame plant, and miniature fairy garden subject. Try some in the ground as a filler around annuals and perennials. One of our favorites. Light, ferny green foliage is the prefect green filler for flowering annuals and thickly textured tropicals. Pretty on its own, also, and makes a great easy care houseplant. Plants can grow 2-3' tall and wide, depending on container size. Growing 12-36" tall, our coleus varieties are equally at home in sun or shade. Great contrast foliage for just about any other plant, or a cool stand alone all by itself. Also wonderful combined with each other!

The classic tropical houseplant, Boston ferns love humidity and do best in indirect light. They can grow up to 3' high and wide and can be moved outdoors during summer so long as they are kept in a shady spot. Boston ferns make great underplanting foliage for larger plants like banana trees. Very large, tropical-looking dark purple foliage, interesting flower spikes and cool neon red seed pods. In the ground, castor bean plants can grow up to 10' tall. Used in pots they won't grow as large. Save some seed for next year.

NOTE: The seeds of this plant are toxic. Keep away from children and curious animals.
This plumed celosia mix grows 12—18"'. Magenta pink, yellow, orange, light pink, and ivory plumes all summer long.  This is a wonderful plant to use for height in a container combo, or at the back of the flower bed. Very hardy and heat tolerant. Also makes great cut flowers and can be dried for long-lasting arrangements.

Blood red foliage is veined in pink. Leaves are rounded and slightly puckered. Yes, they slightly resemble avain innards. An heirloom foliage that's easy to grow and pretty with dusty miller and other contrasting foliage. The variegated version is green, white with dark red stems.

Plants reach 10-12" rather slowly, but can grow larger. Pinching from time to time will keep plants from becoming leggy.
Deep green, arrow-shaped leaves are highlighted with light green to silver veins and striking deep ebony colored stems. In summer, unshowy, haired green flowers appear and give way to rounded black fruits gathered in sparse clusters. Plant climbs with tendrils. Grow in loamy, fertile, well-draining soil that is not alkaline. It tolerates full sun to full shade conditions, allowing it to be grown outdoors in tropical areas or indoors as a houseplant. Allow soil to dry out between waterings, and keep the plant drier in winter. Use it as a vine to cover a modest-sized wall outdoors, or as a rambling groundcover. Indoors, this plant is great in a container but perhaps most impressive in a hanging basket.A fast growing, well-branched cultivar with an upright growth habit. From Central and South America. Large, black-purple, heart-shaped leaves on 4’ purple stems. Outstanding tropical plant for moist areas. Great for containers.

Huge purplish-black leaves supported by burgundy-red stems. Each leaf folds in at the base to form a cup. This large cultivar that forms broad, spreading clumps 4 to 6' tall. Native To eastern Asia, India, and Polynesia. Long trailing vines with small, round, silver foliage tumble from hanging baskets, window boxes and garden walls creating an exotic look. Try it with purple Setcreasea, Algerian ivy and golden creeping Jenny for colorful trailing foliage combination. Sun or shade. Spike is the traditional centerpiece for petunia and geranium planters. Kept in pots and overwintered indoors, they will grow into large palm-like plants that produce large ivory flower clusters. Requires no care and looks great with anything else in sun or shade.

Classic annual foliage that often survives mild winters when planted in beds. Grows to a height of 10-14", making it an excellent choice for planters, hanging baskets and garden bed edges. Great contrast foliage. Exotic-looking, fantastic bold form with pendulous leaves atop upright stems. This fast grower makes an impressive centerpiece in the container garden and prefers the moist conditions of water gardens and containers without drainage holes. Grows just 2-3' high and wide. The same fine textured foliage of A. sprengeri, but the offshoot branches off main stems stay short giving the plant the look of green tails growing from the ground.

Bright chartreuse green foliage is overlaid with a reddish-brown shield. Flowers open to brilliant red-orange. These upright zonals grow 12-15" tall, and make great container companions for a multitude of annuals and tropicals. Very striking. Choose from three variegated ivy cultivars — 'Gold Child' (left), Koliebri (center), or 'Laurens Lace' (right). Low light ivies are slow growing and ask for little. They can be used as stand alone foliage plants or in combination with other other tropicals or flowering annuals in containers, hanging baskets, and on topiary frames. Bright yellow-green foliage makes a great contrast with other plants. Midsummer shoots emerge and many tiny pink blooms open forming a hazy pink cloud sort of like a baby's breath or statice. Great for cut flower arrangements. Plants self seed freely, and grow in poor, dry soil. Very pretty planted in the ground, but also nice in containers.

Tiny round, silver leaves make this foliage plant perfect by itself in a beautiful pot, or as a companion to other tropicals or flowering annuals. Grows 12-16" tall and wide. Gorgeous trailing variegated yellow and green foliage is covered with yellow orange blooms all summer long! This plant loves the heat, and looks wonderful paired with complimentary foliage and flowers or all by itself. Lots of people think this little beauty is a coleus, but it's not. Multicolored leaves of dark purple, with fuchsia centers splashed in green, cream and red. Edges are lightly serrated. Great foliage contrast plant with violet impatiens, fuchsia and many others! Plants can grow 2-3' tall and wide, but are easily kept clipped back.

A great container plant with bold green, deeply cut leaves. This plant grows upright and compact to about 4 feet or so. Gives a great tropical look. For best growth, plant in full sun to partial shade and water regularly. Easy to keep indoors. Easy to grow South-African tropical works wonderfully in containers alone or mixed. Produces tall spikes covered with cream flowers, each edged in deep purple with a dark eye, and topped with a pineapple-like tuft of leaves. Flower spikes grow up to 24" tall and are unusually fragrant. Strappy foliage is green edged in dark burgundy, and in more sunlight will turn completely purple. Where temperatures get colder than 20 degrees F plants should be treated as annuals, but are known to self-seed. Once the grass turns brown it can either be removed immediately or removed in the spring. It should not be expected to live through the winter and begin growing again in the spring. Excellent texture in beds and containers

Dark burgundy foliage grows up to 5-6' tall. Showy burgundy seed plumes begin to emerge mid summer, and persist through fall. An excellent container grass, it adds height to mixed combos. Also makes a striking grass when planted in the ground, where it gets quite large. This is a very frost sensitive plant. Native to Mexico, this Wandering Jew relative has dark purple lance shaped leaves that sometimes get as long as 7". In mid summer, small pink flowers with bright yellow stamens emerge at the tip of each section. Purple Heart does well in sun or shade, and makes a great bedding plant or container specimen. Easy to winter indoors. The stems of Purple Heart are very breakable, but root easily! Plants grow 12-16" high and vine. Prune regularly to keep plants from get leggy and thin. Copper-bronze foliage of Carex buchananii and you’ve got Red Rooster™. With long, fine-textured leaves it forms an impressive upright tuft. brings texture to mixed plantings and it keeps its color throughout the year, making it a fine addition to fall and winter containers. Red Rooster™ prefers full sun and good drainage.
